The Department of Turkish Language and Literature Organized a “Career Days” Event

Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Turkish Language and Literature organized a “Career Days” event at the Prof. Dr. Fevzi Köksal Conference Hall. During the event, students were provided with information about the activities of the Turkish Language Teaching Center (OMÜ-TÜRKÇE) and the Certificate Program in Teaching Turkish to Foreigners. The panel discussion held as part of the event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Bekir Şişman, Director of OMÜ-TÜRKÇE, and featured speakers Merve Tetik Derendeli, Mehmet Harşıt, and Batuhan Şuoruç, all graduates of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Department of Turkish Language and Literature who work as contract teaching staff at OMÜ-TÜRKÇE. During the panel organized as part of the Career Days event, students were introduced to the Ondokuz Mayıs University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (OMÜ-TÜRKÇE); followed by information about the Turkish Language Teaching Certificate (TÖS) training for foreigners, job opportunities, fields of work, opportunities, risks, the process of starting work, success and satisfaction at work, salary status, social security, and the student profile at the Turkish Language Teaching Center. The panel, held as part of the “Career Days” event aimed at enhancing the skills of Turkish Language and Literature Department students and contributing to their post-graduation employment opportunities, was attended by Prof. Dr. Selçuk Çıkla, Head of the Turkish Language and Literature Department, and students from the Turkish Language and Literature and Turkish Language Teaching departments.
