Researchers at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) developed the "Turkey Creative City Index" by evaluating 81 provinces in Türkiye through two-period analyses. The study highlighted emerging centers such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, as well as Eskişehir, Kocaeli, Gaziantep, and Kayseri. As part of "November 8th World Urbanism Day," the comprehensive research was conducted by Associate Professor Fatih Altuğ, a faculty member in the Department of Geography at OMU's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and graduate student Sedanur Arslan. The study presented a spatial mapping of Turkish cities based on technological and talent growth, using data presented for the first time.

The research comparatively examined two time periods: 2010-2012 and 2021-2023. Indexed using data compiled from institutions such as TÜİK, BTK, TURKPATENT and URAK, Richard Florida's 3T model (Technology - Technology, Talent - Talent, Tolerance - Tolerance) was reinterpreted with indicators specific to Türkiye and converted into ArcGIS-based settlements.
