Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences On April 27, 2026, in the Prof. Dr. Fevzi KÖKSAL Conference Hall of our Faculty, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Vedat KELEŞ, our Faculty Associate Deans, Prof. Dr. Muhammet BAHADIR and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okay PEKŞEN , and the faculty’s academic staff, with a one-minute moment of silence in memory of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and our beloved martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland, followed by the recitation of our National Anthem. Later in the program, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Vedat KELEŞ, stated: Esteemed professors, valued colleagues, and distinguished guests, we have gathered here today not merely to hold an academic council meeting, but also to reflect on ourselves. Because universities are not merely places where lessons are taught; they are institutions that generate knowledge, provide guidance, and leave a lasting legacy.
First and foremost, I would like to state this clearly: The faculty members we will be honoring today have brought honor to our faculty through their publications and research projects. I sincerely congratulate them. These achievements are not merely individual successes; they are also promising signs for our institution.
However... With the same sincerity, I must also say this: The current state of our faculty does not reflect our true potential. Our body of knowledge, academic history, and human resources point to achievements far beyond our current publication performance. In other words, the issue is not a lack of capacity... the issue is that we are not fully leveraging this capacity.
Translated with DeepL.com (free version) Dear participants, when discussing academic success, we must not forget the foundation upon which it is built. This is because quality education is made possible not only by a strong academic faculty but also by a robust infrastructure. Today, I would like to extend special thanks to EKOSAM for their contribution to strengthening the computer infrastructure used in our faculty’s classrooms, enhancing the quality of teaching processes, and providing our students with a more productive learning environment.
This contribution is not merely technical support. It is a concrete expression of respect for education. It is an investment in the future. Such collaborations between universities and the business world are initiatives that will shape not only the present but also the future.
Because here, we are educating students; but in reality, we are building the future. EKOSAM’s sensitivity in this matter is of immense value to us and represents a behavior that should serve as an example. On this occasion, I extend my gratitude to EKOSAM for their valuable contributions to education and our faculty; I hope that the plaque we will present to them will symbolize not just a thank you, but a lasting partnership, and I invite them to the stage. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Council Meeting concluded with the presentation of a plaque and the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to academic staff whose projects were approved for 2025.
